Experience Bled and its lake. Late afternoon trip by coach
around the lake. Cruising to Bled island by "pletna"
boats, welcome drink and walnuts at the top of the island stairs,
visit to the idyllic Baroque church with its famous "wishing bell"
dating from 1534. Price 35 DEM per person.
Tuesday, September 13
Vintgar gorge and the sights of Bohinj.
After breakfast, visit to the Vintgar gorge, made by a small mountain
river Radovna. The beautiful wooden path is mostly fixed directly
to the rocks of the canyon. Return before lunch.
Afternoon half day trip to lake Bohinj and to the Savica waterfall,
the inspiration for a poem "Krst pri Savici", written by the greatest
Slovenian poet France Preseren. Ascent by cable car up to
1540 metres high ski resort Vogel. Beautiful view over the lake and
Julian Alps. Famous "Pancakes to Wish" at the nearest mountain hut.
Price for a minimum of 8 persons is 78 DEM per person and includes
entrance fee for the gorge and the waterfall, ticket for the cable car
and pancakes.
Wednesday, September 14
Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Whole day excursion.
Before lunch in the well known "Rotovz" inn, visit to the
old town and the castle, view over Ljubljana from the tower.
After lunch free afternoon for shopping and sight seeing. Return before
dinner. Price for a minimum of 8 persons is 78 DEM per person
and includes all guided events and the lunch.
Friday, September 16
Under Triglav's north rock wall and the gigantic ski jump in Planica.
After breakfast trip to the Triglav National Park. Triglav is the
highest mountain in Slovenia, 2864 metres high. Bus ride to the
Vrata valley, visit to the "Aljazev dom" mountain hut. Few minutes
walk under Triglav's 1500 metres high north rock wall. Drive to
Kranjska gora and Ratece village, lunch. After lunch tour to
Planica which has the world's biggest ski jump, where man, for the
first time in history, jumped on ski more than 200 metres
(209m, March 1994). Then one hour walking tour or bus drive to the
beautiful alpine valley Tamar. Return by bus to Bled, dinner in the hotel.
